This is one of those things that seem extremly complciated.. yet
aren't which is why it often falls to the wayside as firstly you
don't often need to do one and secondly it's a little hard to find
the "how to information" purely because it is so simple :-)
Lets get shooting...
What you need is an image on your screen, a keyboard and Micorsoft
Paint (supplied with all Microsoft Operating Systems or some other
image editor

View] is brilliant and genuine Freeware for non commercial
use.
First step...
On your keyboard usually to right of the F1-F12 buttons is a key
that has Print Scrn and SysRq on it.. thats the one your after
Second step...
Clear your screen of all but image you wish to
screenshot
Hit the
Print Scrn button on
your keyboard
This copies the entire shot of your screen to the clipboard
Third step...
Launch
Micrsoft Paint or
[Irfan
View]
Hit
Edit
Select
Paste

ta da the 'screenshot' image is now available for editing
once you've
cropped/edited the image
to the size your after...
Hit
File
Hit
Save As.. then select the
image format.
and you done.. your first screenshot, Woohoo!
