It's important to Defrag (Defragment) your hard drive regularly as this rearranges the files in a logical order, filling in 'holes' (made by uninstalled software, deleted files etc) repairing errors...overall it'll improve the performance of your computer by allowing it access files faster.
Like ScanDisk, Defrag should also be used as part of your regular maintenance program, but it too, can also be run by itself should the need arise so don't hesitate to use it.
Run DefragNOTE: Don't forget to turn your ScreenSaver OFF! Right Click your desktop, select Properties, hit the ScreenSaver tab, select None, hit ok
Now you can Defrag by....

You can still use your computer while defrag is running we strongly recommend that you don't do this as it makes you computer run a lot slower, the process of defragging takes a lot longer and if the program you're using writes data to your hard disk the current defrag cease and restart right from the beginning again!
Problems running Defrag? You're not alone especially if you find that it'll stop/restart at around 10%
