My transition from Internet Explorer to Avant was immediate, yet from Avant to FireFox it's been more than a little tentative.. more often than not I can peer down at my task bar and see I have one instance of Avant running and multiple of FireFox... it's a good sign really as it means that I will get there ("there" being a fully fledged FireFox user) which is something that I sincerely doubted for many months.
Initially I was overwhelmed by the whole FireFox expeirence, I wanted to hit the ground running, not fumble my way through what seemed to be the very basics of it all. Plugins (after a tip off from a FireFox fan) were my first port of call, it gave me the confidence that I too could download, install and fine tune FireFox just like everyone else... it was a false sense of security ![]()
After plugins I ventured into FireFox Themes which I toyed with briefly, personally I thought that would the biggest puller for me, a way to add character to my browser and personalise the only application that spends 100% of the time open on my desktop.. but it had the opposite affect... I am theme-less.. and happily so
Then I ran head first into the FireFox Extensions which are (generally) required to make it all come together.. some worked, some didn't, some I understood perfectly, some had me perplexed for hours on end.. some caused open verbally expressions of elation and some generated expletives that would make my mothers hair curl but it all came together in the end and I am now packing the most pefect browser... in the whole world... ever! well at least for me
I can't always work it, I don't always use it and sometimes I fail to understand just what's going on and why... but it's cool.. it's growing on me and now it has everything I could ever want in an browser... I just have to learn to use it properly.. time...thankfully I have enough of it spare..
I'm not sure about the brain allocation though...
