every day © Mazeguy life is cool like that... so is Google © Mazeguy

The other day when I was searching for my old and rather out dated Google Deskbar... which is quite different to Google Desktop © Mazeguy ... Google dished up a page that had me quite perplexed... it was the Microsoft Partner Pack for Windows ~ Google Deskbar

The page was somewhat dated (last modified 28 October 2004 ) and I knew... from experience © Mazeguy.... that the Google Deskbar was no longer available... plus I'd never heard of, nor could I remember seeing or hearing anything about a Microsoft Partner Pack.. so I bookmarked the page and carried on with my day... until I found it listed in my favourites this morning so I thought I'd go check it out © Mazeguy

Windows Marketplace Smart Client Applications Spring 2005 SelectionThere wasn't an obvious link to the Microsoft Partner Pack from the Google Deskbar pages so I hit my newly installed (despite being created 21 March 2005) Google Deskbar and Googled "Microsoft Partner Pack" and there it was, a direct link to to the Microsoft Partner Pack page... but alas it was for the CD which is no longer available so I lopped the cd.aspx off the url http://www.microsoft.com/windows/partnerpack/cd.aspx at which point I was then transported to Windows Marketplace Smart Client Applications Spring 2005 Selection .. hmm....

Sure enough there was a nice, neat little section of downloads...
Post-it® Software Notes -Lite caught my eye but I'm happily using Stickies so I let those ones pass me by... but Microsoft TimeZone was a must have download.. well for me at least...

"Use this free simple utility to keep track of the time in other part of the world. Share your ideas without waking up your buddies. Microsoft Time Zone installs as a small tray icon that allows you to specify as many as five cities to watch the time on while you are working on your computer. The application also lets you compare times at different places in the world without changing your system time. With Microsoft Time Zone you will always know the time."

at which point bells started ringing because I'm sure KZ has pointed out to me before © Mazeguy old age on my part... so I trotted off to grab it / another copy of it © Mazeguy

dont let the Buy Now button you off, the applications are still FREE at Windows MarketplaceAll the download listed are stated as being "free", some appear to be totally free, some are cut back versions and some are lite versions, either way, to download from the Spring 2005 Selection no money is required nor does it appear to be asked for so don't let the "Buy Now" button put you off, just click it to proceed to the downloads page. Despite the Google Deskbar no longer being available there... it's still well worth checking out... so enjoy © Mazeguy

btw...
the Microsoft USB Flash Drive Manager might be worth checking out also © Mazeguy
"USB flash drives (UFDs) are compact and portable storage devices that can hold up to 4GB of data!. UFDs can be used to store personal information and also to share information with others. The Microsoft USB Flash Drive Manager can help you backup and restore information on your drives; you can backup and restore presentation, pictures, songs and applications from and to UFDs and take them with you. The application can also help you to classify and name UFDs with friendly names."
