Error Messages

Error 404 - Not Found is the error message that you're going to come face to face with most often as it's quite common...really common! What this means is that the page/site you're trying to get to doesn't exist. This can be because the site genuinely doesn't exist (it could have shut up shop or just moved to a different domain) but it's usually because of the way the site has been referenced. If you typed in the URL manually then double check the spelling and make sure you're dots (.) are in the right place. You'd be amazed at the emails from people saying that our site doesn't exist but when we get them to send us the URL that they typed into the address bar we can see why they kept getting the 404 error... they typed the URL incorrectly. At least we hadn't vanished into cyberspace!

The 3 most common errors have been people typing in www.wackybee.co.nz, www.wackyb.conz and wackby.co.nz all of which are easy enough to do. Another way of getting a 404 error is if you've come to the site via an active link, either within the site or from an external one and in this case both reasons could apply. The link could have been typed in incorrectly by the webmaster or the page could been removed. If you do come across a 404 error on this site or any other and you're sure the page should be there then quickly scan the address bar, make any changes then hit enter and see what happens. If nothing seems to work then contact the owner of the site and with the page details... they'd really appreciate knowing.
