Whether you're wanting to clean up your hard drive for extra disk space, give it spring clean, hand it back to your employer or just maintain some level of privacy then you're sure to find "how to's" listed on the following pages very handy.
NOTE: all care no responsibility for how the information we have provided is used... if in doubt don't do it :)
Back Up everything before you DELETE anything
OK, these are more for "Space" than anything else....
Delete unnecessary Files...like old documents, copies, shortcuts etc. Have a poke around those folders to see what's tucked away in there.
Clear the clutter...of pics, wavs, screensavers, desktop themes etc etc and remove the ones you don't use anymore
Check your downloads folder...for all the programs you downloaded and installed (or fogot to install!) a while ago. If you've installed them and they're running AOK delete the installation files of if you want to keep them throw them on a floppy.
Set up archives...for the files, pics and documents that you don't access all the time and ZIP them for quick reference later on. NOTE: If you have Windows ME then check out
[Compressed Folders] for more information.
Go through your Outlook Expresshave a good poke round in your Inbox, Sent items, Deleted Items folders. Do you really need the email Aunty Mable sent you way back before bread was sliced? Why not delete the oldies, archive the goodies and print off the ones you need hard copies of and dump the rest.
Outlook Express ctd...If you got rid of the excess garbage then it's time for a give it a cleanup
